AUBURN, Ind. (ADAMS) – A few more whacks and he may have been free.
The sheriff in DeKalb County says an inmate almost broke out of the county jail yesterday.
Deputies say the inmate used a grate from the jail’s kitchen stove to smash a window.
The window shattered, but the glass didn’t fall out. Workers in the kitchen alerted the guards, who arrested the inmate.
They’re now facing new charges for trying to escape.
