INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Senate is debating legislation pertaining to human sexuality education and the names and pronouns Hoosier students use at schools.
House Bill 1608 would prevent human sexuality from being taught at the Pre-K to third-grade level.
The measure also requires a parent to be notified within five days if their student asks to use a different name or pronoun in the classroom.
If the Senate passes the bill, it will head to Governor Holcomb’s desk, where he will decide whether or not to sign it.
