WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – Indiana’s two Republican U.S. Senators have split in their votes on the Respect for Marriage Act.
Senator Todd Young was among the 12 Republicans who voted in favor along with Democrats to send the bill to the U.S. House, but Senator Mike Braun voted no.
The bill would ensure same-sex and interracial marriages have federal law protection.
The Indiana Democratic Party slammed Braun for “siding with his party’s extremist wing.”
