FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Citing uncertainties stemming from the most recent spike of COVID-19 cases locally and nationwide, as well as “an abundance of caution for all involved” partners Purdue University Fort Wayne and Parkview Health, along with the steering committee, have decided to cancel Tapestry for 2022.
They say that plans are already in the works to have the annual event return with its popular on-site experiences in the spring of 2023.
Prioritizing what’s in the best interest of those participating in every aspect of the event, we’ve made the tough decision to refocus our efforts to a strong and healthy return in April 2023,” said Kim Boyce, Tapestry project manager. “Throughout its months-long planning process, the safety of our community has remained the number one consideration of our steering committee. We share in our supporters’ disappointment, but are optimistic for the days ahead.
As part of its thorough assessment of the wisdom and feasibility of hosting this year’s event, which was scheduled to take place April 29, the committee consulted with various key colleagues including local healthcare professionals. Tapestry planners are developing refund and donation options for those who have already purchased tickets or sponsorships for the 2022 event. Throughout February, Tapestry personnel will reach out directly to all those impacted by this change.Organizers say that even though Tapestry’s traditional day of inspiration, renewal, and education for women in all stages of life is off until 2023, smaller activities for 2022 are being considered and will be communicated once finalized.
