DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people were taken to a hospital following a crash in DeKalb County Thursday evening.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 40 and County Road 61.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, a woman driving east in a Ford Flex on County Road 40 ran a stop sign at the intersection.
Her vehicle hit a Silverado heading north on County Road 61.
The truck, driven by George D. Schalinske, 73, of St Joe, then went off the road and rolled on its top trapping both occupants. Firefighters broke the window and got them out.
George and Connie Schalinske were taken to a hospital for complaints of pain. The extent of their injuries was not known.
The driver of the Ford, Valerie Deck, 62, of St. Joe, was not hurt.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Butler Police, Butler Fire department, Southeast Fire department, and Parkview EMS.
Both of the vehicles are considered a total loss. Police did not release any further information.
