In a new cover story feature on Miley Cyrus for The Pop Issue of W Magazine, the superstar singer has a lot to say about the lack of respect that she received from the music industry over the course of her highly successful 20-year career. Cyrus’ chart-topping single, “Flowers,” won two Grammys earlier this year for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. But that recognition came a little too late for Cyrus. “No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?” Cyrus said. “I’ve had a hard time figuring out what the measurement is there, because if we want to talk stats and numbers, then where the f*ck was I? And if you want to talk impact on culture, then where the f*ck was I? This is not about arrogance. I am proud of myself.” (Variety)
