Driver uninjured in car vs train crash in DeKalb County


DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in Dekalb County say a man was not hurt when his vehicle was struck by a train. Officials say it happened around 4:30 Thursday afternoon in Butler.

Kristopher Marshall, 42, of Butler was traveling westbound on 6300 BLK of CR 36 approaching railroad tracks. Marshall told officers that as he went over the tracks he did not see the train coming due to the sun.

The train struck his Chevrolet Malibu on the passenger side rear. Marshall said he was not hurt and refused medical treatment at the scene.

The vehicle was deemed a total loss.
