FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fire destroyed a home near Lions Park. The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to the 2300 block of Hazelwood just before 5 a.m. Friday, on reports of a house fire. Upon arrival a fully involved house was observed. Crews quickly determined that the house was vacant and undergoing renovation. Crews attacked the fire mostly from the outside until it was safe enough to make entry and finish extinguishment.
Fire officials say that it was mostly contained to the front of the structure.
All crews gained control of the flames in about a half hour. No injuries were reported. The Fire Department was assisted by FWPD, TRAA, AEP and Neighborhood Code.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
