FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Drivers in Fort Wayne are getting a reminder to never pass a stopped school bus. Police issued tickets to more than 100 drivers since the start of the new school year for driving-by a school bus with its stop arm out.
Fort Wayne Police spokesperson Sofia Rosales-Scatena says everyone stopped got a ticket – officers didn’t issue any warnings.
Indiana, as a whole, is looking to get tougher on drivers who pass school buses. The state sent local police departments more than $300,000 dollars for extra patrols to start the school year.
