FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A mysterious package tuned out to be a false alarm on Thursday. Officers were called to the Marathon Gas Station at 3208 E Coliseum Boulevard, in reference to a suspicious package called in by a customer just before 8:30 a.m.
Upon police arrival, they found the package near a gas pump and deemed it suspicious enough to call the Hazardous Devices Unit.
This specialty unit arrived and used various tools available to them and concluded the package was not threatening in nature.
The package was removed from the premises by HDU without incident.
At this time, police say they have no information on who left the package or their intent and at this time, the incident is still under investigation.
