DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – It appears a school bus crash in DeKalb County could have been a lot worse.
Police didn’t specify what time but said that officers responded to the crash near the 325.5-mile marker, on northbound I-69 on Wednesday.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, the bus was one of three new buses that were heading to Ontario, Canada.
Police said that the bus left the roadway for an unknown reason and eventually crashed into a patch of trees and brush in the ditch.
The driver, Michael Ostrander, 71, Ontario, had minor injuries. Medics treated those injuries at the scene.
No children were on the bus at the time.
The bus was a total loss.
