Settlement likely in sheriff’s shoving case

Allen County Sheriff David Gladieux

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The family of a Fort Wayne teen who says the local sheriff drunkenly shoved him to the ground last summer could soon get a big check.

Lawyers for the teen’s family are asking a federal judge to schedule a settlement hearing in the case. Allen County Sheriff David Gladieux continues to say he did nothing wrong.

Investigators say he shoved the teen during last summer’s Three Rivers Festival because the teen asked to see some ID at a security checkpoint. The teen’s family sued for $300,000, but there is no word what the settlement’s price tag will be.
