Coroner identifies 21-year-old woman stabbed to death over the weekend


UPDATE (September 10, 2019): Police have now arrested a Fort Wayne man for the stabbing death of a local woman. 55-year-old Robert Littlejohn is now charged in the attack on 21-year-old Kennedy Laramore. The Allen County Coroner deemed her death a homicide and released the following on Monday:

“The autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin, of the female victim that was found in the 1600 Block of Roosevelt Drive, Fort Wayne, on September 7, 2019, at approximately 22:38 hours. She has been positively identified as Kennedy Janae Laramore, female, black, 21 years of age, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Kennedy Janae Laramore was suffering from sharp force injuries and was transported from the scene by medics to a local hospital where death was pronounced.
Cause of Death has been determined to be Stab Wounds of Chest and the Manner of Death is Homicide. Kennedy Janae Laramore is the 18th Homicide victim in Allen County for 2019.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.”


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – FWPD officials say one woman is dead after she was stabbed late Saturday night.
At approximately 10:39 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Roosevelt Drive reference a battery in progress. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult/female victim lying in the middle of the street.
The female was unconscious and appeared to be suffering from an apparent stab wound(s). Officers immediately administered CPR and first-aid until paramedics arrived. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Upon arriving at the hospital a physician pronounced the victim deceased.

Preliminary information indicates there was an altercation between several people prior to the stabbing. Detectives are currently interviewing numerous witnesses and hope to obtain suspect information once those interviews are concluded.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
