The Allen County Coroner has identified a woman who was stabbed to death Tuesday afternoon.
The following was issued to the media shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday:
“The Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of the stabbing investigation located in the 4700 block of Jason Drive at about 1250 hours on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Tonisha T. Richardson, female black, 25 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana was transported from the scene to a local hospital where death was pronounced a short time after arrival.
An autopsy has been completed and the next of kin has been notified of the death. The Cause of Death has been determined to be a Stab Wound and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Tonisha T. Richardson is the 6th Homicide in Allen County for 2020.”
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Late Tuesday afternoon, Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Detectives made an arrest in the homicide of a young woman. Officers were called to 4700 Jason Dr at approximately 12:48 p.m. in reference to a reported unknown problem.
Preliminary reports said it was possibly a shooting or a stabbing.
When officers arrived they determined that it was most likely a stabbing. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was said to have life-threatening injuries. Later the victim did succumb to her injury while undergoing treatment.
A description of a possible suspect and vehicle description was given. Homicide detectives quickly were able to locate the person of interest and take her into custody.
Detectives detained a person of interest, Alisha Lampkin, 28. After interviewing her, they arrested her for murder. She will be booked into Allen County Jail and appear in Allen County Superior Court Wednesday.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin. If anyone has any information on this or any other crimes please call 427-1201 or 436-STOP.
