INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Some local organizations are calling for action to be taken against three Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers.
A video (watch below) has been going viral showing the officers using what some believe is excessive force on 26-year-old Chanel Bates on Saturday.
Police say the officers smelled marijuana coming from Bates’ car and she failed to comply with the commands of officers. Bates later posted her version of what happened, along with a video and photos on social media after being released from the downtown jail and treated at Eskenazi hospital. The local Black Lives Matter organization and the Indianapolis Women’s March group wants Chief Bryan Roach to suspend the officers involved.
