INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – With just over a week left in Indiana’s legislative session, two state lawmakers have failed to amend a gun reform bill. Democratic state legislators Ed DeLaney and Eddie Melton wanted to make changes to Senate Bill 413 following the mass shooting at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis.
Changes would have included mandated universal background checks for gun sales and a ban on selling certain assault weapons. The changes were rejected by the bill’s author.
