Indiana school district ordered to let student use bathroom of choice

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The rules for bathrooms in Evansville’s public schools may be changing. A federal judge last week said the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation violated a former student’s rights by forcing him to use the women’s restroom.

The student was born female but is transitioning to male. The court said the school district violated the student’s 14th Amendment rights and violated Title Nine.

Evansville Schools say the student is no longer with the district, so they want the ruling overturned.
