FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Science Central is hosting a vision health day this weekend.
It says the event is thanks to the Lion’s Club, a sponsor helping to make it possible Saturday, January 27th.
Lion’s Club members will be on-site giving free vision screenings to children and giving educational presentations about vision and service animals.
The day will also include fun and informative activities and demonstrations related to vision health.
Science Central says that Cheri Backer, a volunteer puppy raiser for Leader Dog for the Blind, will give a presentation at 11:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Financial Foundation Demonstration Theater about her experiences as a trainer of Leader Dogs for the last 24 years.
Doreen Hanan, a member of the New Haven Lion’s Club and owner of a Leader Dog, will present the do’s and don’ts with service animals at 1:30 p.m. in the Demonstration Theater.
Admission on Saturday is just $5 ages 3 and up and free for Science Central Members.
