FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS)- The Embassy Theatre will host this year’s Marquee Gala featuring Shoshana Bean on Friday, April 30 at 8 p.m.

The event is a unique Embassy fundraiser that brings Broadway stars to the stage in Fort Wayne for an intimate evening of music and camaraderie.

The Embassy is a non-profit and relies on memberships and patron support to thrive in our community.

The Embassy released the following regarding this year’s event:

The Embassy hosted the last Marquee with Adam Pascal in August 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. The organization found a successful way to craft this unique experience in an era where reducing exposure to COVID has been paramount and establishing a comfort level with patrons is front and center. It was much different from the traditional Marquee experience that is designed to be on stage, close to the talent, minimizing the traditional physical placement of audience and performer.

The Embassy also modified the activities of the evening to minimize catering and to allow for proper ingress/egress, timed entry and exiting strategies and utilize social distancing among other protocols to space guests out in the auditorium. The theater also opened it up more broadly to the community by offering a $150 ticket as well as a virtual option. Normally, the ticket pricing is $250 per ticket. While this April’s event will mimic the August 2020 event in format, the Embassy plans to go back to the stage format and previous pricing structure in the future.
Buying a ticket to this event is one way to help Fort Wayne’s “crown jewel” and have a relaxing and magical evening with an amazing Broadway talent. All proceeds from this event go to fund the Embassy Theatre.

Shoshana Bean is a veteran of the Broadway stage having made her debut in the original cast of Hairspray, starring as the very first replacement for Elphaba in Wicked and most recently as Jenna in Waitress. She won a IRNE Award for her performance as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl and earned a Jeff Award nomination for her portrayal of CeeCee Bloom in the pre-Broadway musical production of Beaches. Shoshana’s three independent solo albums have all topped the iTunes R&B and Blues charts in the US and UK, with her fourth and most recent project, SPECTRUM, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Jazz charts. She has sold out solo concerts around the globe, lent her voice to countless films and television shows, amasses millions of views on YouTube, and performed alongside Ariana Grande, David Foster, Postmodern Jukebox, Brian McKnight and Michael Jackson.
