FW Children’s Zoo to host ‘Spring into Action River Cleanup’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is hosting their first Spring into Action River Cleanup on June 15th, from 9 am to 11 am at the Zoo Education Center, 600 Franke Park Drive. AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums across North American are throwing a Party for the Planet.

Want to join the party? They are inviting all families, community groups and individuals of all ages to take action as we clean up the surrounding Spy Run Creek.

“See how you can make a difference to global oceans by preserving our local waterways,” said Andria Schmitz, Teens for Nature program lead. “This event will include special activities and engagements for children, youth and adults all led by our Teens for Nature volunteers.”

Everyone is invited to help ‘Party for the Plant’. You should wear suitable footwear and clothing for a morning of nature fun. The zoo asks that you bring reusable water bottles to stay hydrated. Water coolers will be provided for refills.
The event is free to the public.
