9-year-old critically injured after being hit on his bicycle

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say a child suffered life threatening injuries when he was hit by a car.n Tuesday October 8, 2019 at approximately 7:17 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Paulding Road in reference to a personal injury accident.

As officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they observed a 9-year-old male juvenile unresponsive. Paramedics provided medical attention to the child before transporting him to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told investigators that the child was riding a bicycle northbound crossing Paulding Road as the child road into the path of a vehicle traveling westbound on Paulding Road. The crash is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Departments FACT Team.
