ALLEN CO., Ind (ADAMS) – The Allen Circuit Court announced that Steven O. Godfrey has been selected as the new Circuit Court Magistrate.
“I was extremely impressed with the talented pool of applicants from which to choose,” said Circuit Court Judge Thomas Felts. “I am very happy to welcome Mr. Godfrey to the Circuit Court bench. His trial experience as a litigator and overall legal acumen makes him uniquely qualified for this position. He will be a great addition to our team.”
Godfrey’s appointment fills a vacancy created when Andrea Trevino, who had been a Magistrate in Allen Circuit Court, was named a Judge in the Allen Superior Court earlier this month by Governor Eric Holcomb.
Godfrey earned his undergraduate degree from Ball State University and his law degree from Valparaiso University in 1990. He was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1991. He worked for 6 years as a deputy prosecutor in the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office and has served as Chief Counsel in the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, prosecuting major felonies, for the past 19 years before accepting the position as Magistrate. Godfrey will start his new position on May 16.
