Election board boots Decatur mayoral candidate over paperwork snafu

DECATUR, Ind. (ADAMS) – Decatur Mayor Kenneth Meyer looks to have a clear path to another term at city hall. Meyer is the only candidate on the ballot after the Adams County Election Board voted yesterday to kick challenger Daniel Rickord off the ballot because he filed his paperwork late.

Meyer is a Republican, Rickord is a Democrat. Republicans control the county election board. Rickord said he thought he had until July 3rd to file. The election board said the deadline was June 30th.
