Habitat for Humanity and CASS Housing announce softball fundraiser

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – CASS Housing and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne have announced a collaborative softball fundraiser on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1pm at Indiana Tech’s Warrior Park, 377 E Tillman Rd. The joint fundraiser will provide needed support for the work of both organizations and will help to build more homes for those in our community.

“Partnerships matter. Habitat for Humanity is a world-class organization and the local Fort Wayne chapter is well respected in our region. As CASS Housing looks to expand our programming and services, there isn’t a better community partner than Habitat. We’re thrilled to be able to join together and make affordable housing available to individuals of all abilities.” – David Buuck, Executive Director, CASS Housing.

The groups say that a little competition goes a long way. Teams will be competing for bragging rights and a chance to take home 51% of the funds raised for the event. The community is invited to come on out and cheer on their favorite team. This is a free, family friendly event with the goal that those attending the event will walk away with a better understanding of the mission of both organizations.

“Unfortunately, the dream of home ownership and the stability it provides is out of reach for so many. In order to achieve the lofty goal of safe, decent and affordable housing for every member of our community, we must be committed to relentless collaborations like this one. This event with CASS Housing is just the beginning of a long, purposeful relationship. We could not be more excited to work with such an outstanding organization with a true heart for housing those most in need,” said Andrew Gritzmaker, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne.

This event is free to the community. More information is available here
