Local fabrication shop gets high marks for safety

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A local shop is celebrating a big honor. Wagner-Meinert, a fabrication and maintenance shop in its Fort Wayne, IN headquarters has been granted the INSHARP certification. This status is assigned only to Indiana businesses that demonstrate exemplary health and safety programs and results. Tuesday, the company will be presented with its Certificate by Michelle Ellison, Assistant Commissioner for the Indiana Department of Labor, Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry will also be attending and speaking.

To qualify for INSHARP certification, companies must undergo the following:
● Submit a request for a comprehensive review of workplace safety and health.
● Undergo an onsite evaluation.
● Receive an INSHARP report with results of evaluation, outlining any potential hazards
that need corrected.
● Receive final review for determination of INSHARP certification.
Once the final review is complete, the company receives notification of a granted or denied
certification.
