Overnight rehabilitation of multiple bridges to begins

GRANT, HUNTINGTON AND MIAMI COUNTIES, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation says a tentative timeline for bridge joint repair on multiple bridges in Grant, Huntington and Miami counties beginning on or after Tuesday, Aug. 27, weather permitting. Work is expected to take place overnight during the hours of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Contractors are expected to work at each bridge for one to three days each, weather permitting.

Bridge joint work will take place in the locations below:
U.S. 31 over Prairie Ditch in Miami County, just north of W. Blair Pike/W Division Road in Miami County
I-69 over Barren Creek, between mile marker 255-257
I-69 over the Mississinewa River, between mile marker 256-258
I-69 over C.R. 700 S, between mile marker 256-258
I-69 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, between mile marker 257-259
I-69 over SR 22, between mile marker 258-260
S.R. 18 over the Mississinewa River, between Sears Drive and S. Pennsylvania Street in Marion
S.R. 9 over Boots Creek, between W. 16th S and S. Valley Ave. in Marion
I-69 over S.R. 218, between mile marker 271-273
I-69 over S.R. 5, between mile marker 275-277
I-69 over the Wabash River, between 277-279
S.R. 9 over Deer Creek, W. Old Kokomo Road and W. Goff Road in Marion
S.R. 18 over Troy Ave., between W. 9th Street and Sherron Place in Marion
S.R. 18 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad spur, between Sherron Place and N. Miller Ave. in Marion

Drivers are cautioned to watch for lane closures in the construction zone, as well as a reduced speed limit. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through any active work zone.

Work on the projects is scheduled to be completed in November, weather permitting.
