Woman in critical condition after being stabbed on front porch

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police say that one woman is in critical condition after she was stabbed at a home on Friday. Just before 11 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Antoinette Street.
When they arrived on scene they located a female/adult victim lying on the front porch of a residence. The victim was conscious and appeared to be suffering from an apparent stab wound to the abdomen. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician.

Preliminary information indicates there was an altercation between the victim and another female prior to the stabbing. Witnesses reported the female suspect fled prior to officers arriving on the scene. Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses and hope to obtain suspect information once those interviews are concluded.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. There are no additional details at this time.
