(ADAMS) – Pride Month begins today (June 1).
Organizations and activists supporting LGBTQ rights will be staging parades, festivals, concerts and other events worldwide.
June commemorates the police raid on a gay club in New York in 1969. Customers rioted in the street outside, in what’s often viewed as the beginning of the gay rights movement.
