FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A warrant has been issued for a man in connection with a shootout in Fort Wayne just before Christmas. Court documents say 28-year-old Henry Myers Junior was angry with his girlfriend and eventually frightened his children who were at a Christmas party before shots were fired.
Prosecutors say after making threats, Myers brought a gun to a home on Lima Road where the party was and where his kids were. Police and court documents say that is when a fight and subsequent shootout ensued.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following at the time of the shootings:
On Thursday, December 23, 2021, at approximately 10:37 PM, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 8700 block of Lima Rd. in reference to an armed disturbance. The initial call to the police department indicated that a man was breaking into the house with a gun.
Upon arrival, Officers found three adult gunshot victims at the scene. All victims were transported to a local hospital. One of the male victims was found to be in critical condition.
Preliminary information indicates that everyone involved knew each other and there was gunfire exchanged between at least two of the victims.
Currently, there is no outstanding suspects. Investigators are currently interviewing involved parties and witnesses. The Air Support Unit and Crime Scene Technicians are documenting the scene and collecting evidence.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Online court documents now say that the fight touched-off a shootout that left 33-year-old Alexia Quinn dead, the homeowner injured, and left Myers with a bullet in his stomach.
The Allen County Coroner released the following regarding Quinn’s death:
On Friday December 24, 2021 at about 0125 hours the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of the death of Alexia Deane Quinn female black 33 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Alexia D. Quinn was involved in an altercation in the 8700 block of Lima Road during the evening hours of December 23, 2021 where multiple people were shot. Alexia D. Quinn was transported from the scene to a local hospital where death was pronounced.
An autopsy has been completed and the next of kin has been notified of the death. The Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Myers has been charged with murder and weapons charges. He will presumably be taken to jail once he gets out of the hospital.
