INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – It is all but certain that Indiana lawmakers will send Governor Holcomb new rules for trans athletes who want to play on girls’ teams in the state.
Republicans in the Indiana Senate yesterday shot down attempts to water down the ban on trans athletes. That clears the way for a final vote on the proposal.
Opponents say trans kids need to be seen and given the chance to compete in school sports in Indiana. Supporters of the plan say lawmakers need to protect girls’ sports for girls.
