DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says officers were notified about a rollover crash early Thursday morning. However, officials say that it happened Wednesday night at approximately 11 p.m.
Deputies were called to the 3800 block of CR 39 where they that a 2004 Chevy Silverado flipped on its side and no one was in the vehicle.
Officials say they believe the truck had been driving southbound before drifting over the centerline.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department Kyle M. Tompkins, 29, of Auburn, who was driving the truck, overcorrected and then went off the road. The truck then went into a ditch and then into a field before it rolled and came to a rest facing southwest on the driver’s side.
A police report says that Tompkins was transported to the hospital by another private vehicle after the crash. He was treated for facial injuries and later released.
There is no word on what police think caused the crash and it remains under investigation.
