INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Instead of a $225 tax refund check, Indiana lawmakers are suggesting a six-month break on utility taxes. as a better way to give people some relief from rising inflation.
Republicans in the Indiana Senate introduced that plan yesterday. It would include suspending the 7-percent sales tax on electricity, water, gas, internet, and phone bills. The proposal will be considered at Monday’s special legislative session
Governor Holcomb this week said he still wants to see taxpayers get $225 checks, and told lawmakers they need to hurry up and make it happen.
