UPDATE (September 29, 2022):
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department family is still grieving the loss of Detective Donald Kidd, a 17-year veteran of the force, who passed away unexpectedly over the late-night hours of September 22, 2022.
On Wednesday, the department announced details on funeral services.
The FWPD said Wednesday it would hold a procession from St. Peter’s Lutheran Church to the cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
A service is set for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 7710 E. State Blvd., followed by a procession to Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
The cause of Kidd’s death has not been released.

Procession Route:
East on Maysville from St. Peter’s Church, then South on Landin Rd., then West on North River Rd. turning onto Lake Ave. and arriving at the Cemetery.

Police Chief Stephen Reed is asking that everyone keep Kidd’s family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
The FWPD will be with and support his family as we all come together to honor Detective Donald Kidd.
