The FWPD released the following:
On November 13, 2022, around 4:57pm, detectives with the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit were patrolling near E. Creighton Ave and Smith St. when a detective noticed an active stolen vehicle driving down E. Creighton Ave. The detective tried to stop the stolen vehicle but rather than pull over, the stolen vehicle fled and took officers on a pursuit. The fleeing vehicle eventually collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Lafayette and Washington. The two juvenile suspects in the stolen vehicle fled then ran on foot but were apprehended by officers a short distance away. The collision also took out the traffic lights at this intersection.
The victim vehicle was occupied by a solo adult female driver; she was checked by paramedics on the scene and was released in good condition. The two juvenile suspects were checked by paramedics and transported to local hospital as a precaution. They are both in good condition. Because the crash occurred during a police pursuit, the crash investigation team was called to document and process the scene.
Any charges for the juveniles stemming from this will be decided on at the appropriate time.
Lafayette and Washington remained closed for the duration of the investigation.
