FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – GivingTuesday is a day to make a difference in the community as well as in the life of a shelter pet. That is the message from Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control this GivingTuesday.
To date, nearly 10,000 animals have come through their doors. Whether they need additional medical care or are too small for adoption and must go into a foster home, it’s only possible to save their lives because of generous donations from the community.
FWACC released the following:
This year, FWACC is asking the public to please consider donating to the shelter’s Angel Fund which helps provide additional medical care for animals in need. Nearly $370,000 have already been spent to help cover life-saving procedures and equipment. As an open-access shelter, FWACC does not turn away any animal in Allen County for any reason. Often, animals come to us in great need of medical care and the Angel Fund is our only option to help save their lives.
It is our goal that no healthy, treatable animal is put to sleep in our community. On Giving Tuesday your donation will go twice as far thanks to a generous donor. Donations can be made online, in-person, over the phone at 260-427-1244 option 1, or mailed to Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control at 3020 Hillegas Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46808. You can also text “barks” to 41444 to donate.
