FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Board of Commissioners has secured 140 acres of land for the new county jail.
The property owner and the county signed the purchase agreement this week.
Commissioner Nelson Peters says the site on Meyer Road is “the best solution for the community as a whole as a central location within the county for a new confinement center.”
The Fort Wayne Board of Zoning Appeals has to approve the use of the land in January.
