UPDATE (February 22, 2023):
The Allen County Coroner has released the identity of a woman who was shot while leaving the Eagle’s Lodge off Bluffton Road Sunday night. Police said initially that she was in a car with another man who was driving when their vehicle was hit with gunshots.
He drove back to Eagle’s Lodge for help but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as Diasha Renee Fitts, 39, of Fort Wayne. Her death was ruled a Homicide.
The following was released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office:
On Sunday, February 19th, 2023, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a shooting in the 4900 block of Bluffton Road, in Fort Wayne. The individual was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The individual was identified as Diasha Renee Fitts, 39, female, Black of Fort Wayne.
Notification has been made to the next of kin and an autopsy have been completed. The Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wound of Head and the Manner of Death is ruled a Homicide.
Diasha Renee Fitts is the 5th Homicide for Allen County for 2023.
This incident is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – One woman has been killed in a Fort Wayne shooting Sunday night. She was found in a vehicle at the Eagle’s Lodge on Bluffton Road. However, police say she was shot near Winchester Road and Airport Expressway.
Police say that the woman and a male driver were at the Eagle’s Lodge before the shooting. When they left, the man says she was hit by gunfire as they were driving to another location. He says he drove back to the Eagle’s Lodge for help.
The woman was taken to the hospital but pronounced dead a short time later. Police say they don’t have many leads and are asking for any tips.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following:
On February 19th, 2023 at approximately 11:32pm Fort Wayne Police Officers were called to 4940 Bluffton Rd. Eagle’s Lodge in reference to victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Upon arrival officers observed one female adult victim in the passenger side of a vehicle parked in the parking lot. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later pronounced deceased. The victim and the male driver were at the Eagle’s Lodge prior to the shooting and had left to go to an unknown location and as they were driving were engaged by gunfire which struck the female adult victim. The male driver drove back to 4940 Bluffton Rd. Eagle’s Lodge where the Fort Wayne Police were called to.
The identity of the victim has not been released as the incident is currently under investigation. There is currently no suspect information at this time. Detectives on scene are canvassing the area for witnesses and any video footage of the crime.
