LAGRANGE CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department says that one man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a semi while on a tractor on Tuesday.
Police said it happened just before noon on CR 600 W about a half mile north of US 20.
Both the semi and the farm tractor were driving south when the semi tried to pass multiple vehicles, including the tractor. While doing so, the driver of the farm tractor attempted to pull into a private drive when it was struck by the semi that was hauling a loaded trailer, according to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash ejected the driver of the tractor, while the semi rolled over on its side.
The tractor driver was flown by helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital. The semi-driver was checked out at the scene and cleared.
The department did not release any further information.
