ADAMS CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation says that a portion of State Road 218 will close soon for a bridge replacement west of Berne.
Starting on or after October 16, crews will be working on the S.R. 218 bridge over the Wabash River between State Road 116 and C.R. 500 W. The bridge is expected to be closed until June 2024, with an overall contract completion date of September 2024. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
During the closure, drivers should use the approved detour of S.R. 116 and U.S. 27, or seek an alternate route.
INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when traveling in and around all work zones.
