FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that an arrest was made Monday morning in connection to a shooting left a woman with non-life-threatening injuries.
The FWPD says that Jermaine C. Whitsett, 42, is charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
Police said Whitsett is suspected of shooting a woman in the 1200 block of Nuttman Avenue around 4:15 a.m. Monday.
Police caught up with him in a traffic stop around 12:45 p.m. near the intersection of Colerick and Winter.

The Fort Wayne Police Department arrested Jermaine Whitsett in a traffic stop 1/22/24 at Colerick/Winter St. at roughly 12:44pm without incident. Jermaine is the suspect of a shooting that occurred 1/22/24 at 4:15 am in the area of 1200 Nuttman Ave. The victim in the shooting was an adult female who sustained non-life threatening injuries. FWPD Detectives and Patrol officers worked diligently to initiate the arrest.
