ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Coroner is identifying the woman who was found dead last Thursday as 61-year-old Sheila Snyder of Roanoke. She was found in the front yard of a home just before noon and police say the circumstances of her death are suspicious. The cause and manner of her death are still pending, and the investigation is still open.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Thursday, February 15th, 2024, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a man down in the 10000 block of Aboite Road, in Roanoke, Indiana. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The individual was identified as Sheila Louise Snyder, 61, female, White, of Roanoke, Indiana.
Notification has been made to the legal next of kin and an autopsy has been completed. The Cause of Death is Pending and the Manner of Death is Pending.
The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The death of a woman Thursday in Allen County is under investigation.
She was found dead in the front yard of a home in the 10100 block of Aboite Road near Roanoke around noon.
Police say the circumstances around her death are suspicious. Her identity and details of her death have not been released.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On February 15, 2024, at approximately 11:50 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 10100 block of Aboite Road, reference a possible unconscious person down in the front yard of a residence. Upon arrival, officers and medics located an adult female unconscious in the front yard. Medics pronounced the female deceased at the scene.
Due to the suspicious nature of the preliminary investigation, Sheriff’s Department Detectives and Crime Scene were called to the scene. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
