UPDATE (March 26, 2024):
The skeletal remains found near I-469 in southern Allen County on March 11 have been identified. The Allen County Coroner’s office says they were the remains of 31-year-old Cody Rose, who was reported missing in April 2022. Rose was last seen leaving his home in the middle of the night. The cause of his death is still under investigation.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Monday, March 11th, 2024, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of human skeletal remains found off I-469 and Winchester Road exit, in Fort Wayne.
The skeletal remains were identified by dental records as Cody Michael Rose, 31, male, White of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Notification has been made to the legal next of kin and an autopsy has been completed. The Cause of Death is Pending and the Manner of Death is Pending
The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Human remains have been found near I-469 in Allen County. Police say they are trying to determine the identity.
The remains were found just before 11 a.m. Monday near I-469 and Winchester Road. What led to the discovery and how the remains ended up there is not yet known.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following:
On Monday, March 11, 2024, at approximately 10:55 AM, officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area of I-469 and Winchester Rd. Upon arrival, officers were directed to an area where human remains were located. At this time, the gender and identity of the individual is unknown. This investigation is ongoing and is being investigated by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
