FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says a man has been arrested after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman on March 8. The FWPD says that Marcus Walker, 31, met the woman through social media and assaulted her in an apartment on Ridgewood Drive, close to Parnell. The woman initially reported it to the Indiana State Police.
Walker was arrested Monday and is preliminarily charged with rape along with sexual battery and intimidation.
The FWPD released the following:
On Monday, March 11, 2024, a victim of a sexual assault reported to the Indiana State Police (ISP) Post # 22. She described being sexually assaulted the previous Friday in an apartment located in the 900 block of Ridgewood Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana. A Fort Wayne Patol Officer was dispatched to the ISP Post to take over the investigation. Detective Miranda Lasley was assigned as the lead investigator later that morning. Victim named her assailant, Marcus Walker, and said they met via social media. The defendant was arrested this morning by FWPD Patrol Officers for the listed charges. Detective Lasley was assisted by Indiana State Police, the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center (FW SATC) and the FWPD Victims Assistance Unit.
