DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says one person was taken to the hospital following a late-night crash on Sunday. It happened on I-69 close to the 322-mile marker on the northbound side.
Police say multiple calls came in just before 10 p.m. reporting that a semi hit a vehicle on the side of the road.
When deputies arrived, they found a man lying in the roadway. An ambulance arrived and began rendering medical aid to the man.
The northbound lanes of I-69 were then shut down.
The semi-driver remained on the scene and said that he did not see the vehicle, a Subaru Crosstree driven by 69-year-old Arthur Stevenson Jr., of Louisville, Kentucky.
Ahmed Ibrahim, the driver of the truck, said the Subaru was partially in the roadway and did not have any lights on.
Stevenson was taken to the hospital for multiple injuries. His current condition is not known.
