INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Hospitals across the state are overwhelmed with young patients suffering from RSV.
Officials at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital say their pediatric units are at capacity and their emergency department is swamped with babies and toddlers with upper respiratory issues.
While it is technically “RSV season,” local hospital officials say they are seeing patients with the virus earlier than in years past. It’s being reported that this particular RSV variant is causing more severe symptoms among some pediatric patients leading to more hospitalizations.
