INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana’s next state report cards will not be based on test scores. This week, the state’s Department of Education said they are moving away from a “one-time snapshot” and moving toward a new dashboard that measures student performance over time.
No one is explaining just how it will work in the classroom, but a DOE spokesperson says the idea is to measure more than reading, math, and science scores.
Indiana schools will now be judged on how well kids are prepared for college or a career, how well they communicate, what their work ethic is, and where they stand on civic and financial literacy.
