LAGRANGE CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested after allegedly killing a dog while he was on meth and attacking a second dog.
Star Speicher, 22, was arrested on two counts of Torture or Mutilation of a Vertebrate Animal, a level 6 Felony for the Wednesday morning incident at a home on the 4700 block of 4795 East 025 N in LaGrange
Police were initially sent to the home on a welfare check and animal complaint.
According to a report, an investigation revealed Speicher killed a small dog with a machete and caused such severe injury to another dog that the owner decided to euthanize it.
Police say Speicher was under the influence of methamphetamine Wednesday around 7 a.m. when it happened.
Star was later transported to the LaGrange County Jail.
