FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – There are some questions to answer about a fire at a home near downtown Fort Wayne. It happened yesterday afternoon the 2700 block of Thompson around 5 p.m.
The one person who was inside made it out okay, though firefighters are not sure about their cat, according to reports.
Fort Wayne Fire Department officials say that investigation could take some time. The home suffered moderate fire, water, and smoke damage.
The FWFD released the following:
FWFD responded to a possible house fire. When the first units arrived, they found smoke coming from the eves and upstairs windows on the rear of the structure. The fire was extinguished and the house was searched for other occupants with no one found. There was one resident at home at the time of the fire and self-evacuated. The FD was assisted by FWPD, NCE, AEP NIPSCO, and TRAA.
