DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Police say that two people were hurt in a crash just south of Butler just before 7 a.m. Monday.
A police report details that Derrick Cordial was driving north on C.R. 59 in his 2005 Ford Escape when Elizabeth Burress disregarded a stop sign when leaving Steel Dynamics Industries.
Her vehicle proceeded to cross the road when it struck the Ford. Both vehicles slid into the ditch on the northeast side of the intersection.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says that Cordial, 39, of Auburn, complained of neck, arm and leg pain. Burress, 20, of Fort Wayne, complained of hip pain.
They were taken by ambulance to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Police say a four-year-old in Burress’s vehicle was not hurt.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene and considered to be totaled. The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Parkview EMS and the Butler Fire Department.
