FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – There is a person of interest in a weekend shooting in Fort Wayne that left a man fighting for his life.
It happened Sunday evening, just south of downtown on the 800 block of Madison Street.
Fort Wayne Police say they know who they are looking for, they just haven’t released their identity.
There is no word about what led up to the shooting.
FWPD officials released the following:
On Sunday, 07/17/2022, at approximately 6:48 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 800 block of Madison Street regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene to find an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported as being in life-threatening condition. Detectives are canvasing the area, speaking with several witnesses and are searching for a person of interest.
